George F. Pratt, of So. Weymouth, born October 16, 1931 died May 24, 2012 aged 80 years. George was born and lived most of his life in Weymouth. He was a retired schoolteacher and guidance counselor of almost 40 years in Weymouth Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He served 3 terms as a Weymouth Town Meeting Member, was a member of Old South Union Church and a former Volunteer at South Shore Hospital. He was a graduate of Suffolk University and earned a Master’s Degree from UMass Amherst. He was an active member of the OPALS singing group and an avid golfer and gardener. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Knowles) Pratt, loving father of Kenneth R. Pratt of Provincetown, Lynne E. and husband Martin Grant of Braintree, Joanne C. Pratt and husband Michael Goldstein of Sherborn, and Karen D. and husband Alex Belmonte of Holbrook. Dear friend of Rosemarie Bonani of Holbrook. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Allison, Emily, Andrew and Elizabeth. Brother of Joseph Pratt of Florida, Shirley Pineau of So. Weymouth and June Jackson of Abington and predeceased by five other siblings: Katherine Poe, Gustavus Pratt, Henry Pratt, Donna Pratt and Janice Jimoulis. He also leaves an uncle, William Lavery, and his wife Dorothy of Norwell. George leaves many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant Street, (Columbian Sq.) So. Weymouth on Monday, May 28 from 4 – 8 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St., So. Weymouth on Tuesday, May 29 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at the Lakeview Cemetary. E. Manganiello passed away May 7, 2011.   She was a computer teacher at Adams Middle School.

On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM a bench and garden in front of the school dedicated in her memory.

William Coutts  Visit Guest Book

William “Bill” Coutts, 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Bill was born April 28, 1947, in Cambridge, to William and Alice Coutts. He grew up in Lynn and lived in Weymouth for 37 years. Bill graduated from St. Marys High School in Lynn, Class of 1965. He attended St. Anselm College and graduated from Framingham State College 1972. He served in the Army Reserves from 1966-1972. He held many jobs in his lifetime, most recently as a Teamster in Local 259 at the Boston Globe, part owner of, manager of News Distributor in Allston, part owner of Dedham Mailing Company in Hyde Park and as a teacher in Weymouth Public Schools. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. Upon retirement, he became a member and vice president of Sharon Country Club, where he scored his first and only hole-in-one. Bill also set many club records including most rounds played in a single season, 210. Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Bill always loved a good joke, especially if he was telling it. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him but he will continue to live on in our hearts and memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Jean (Murray) Coutts of Weymouth; son and daughter-in-law, Corby and Ericka Coutts of West Roxbury; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Michael OConnor of Roslindale; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tracy Coutts of West Newton. Bill was also the proud Papa of Camryn and Riley Coutts and Katherine OConnor. Bill was the third oldest of four children. His sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jack Kupelnick of Lynn, his sister Patricia Polsonetti of Ayer, and sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Rick Tobey of Lynn. Bill was also a loving uncle to 15 nieces and nephews. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home South Weymouth, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opposite South Shore Hospital), Friday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Private burial at a later date. Mary Ann Ferrisi  Visit Guest Book

Mary Ann Ferrisi passed away at her Weymouth home surrounded by her loving family Feb. 15, 2012. She was 71 years old. Born in Everett, she was a lifetime Weymouth resident. Mary Ann was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Massasoit College, Leslie College and also attended Emmanuel College. Mary Ann was a nurse with the Weymouth School Department and 19 years with the Brookline School Department. She was also employed by Braintree Scientific, Inc. Beloved wife of Ralph Ferrisi Jr. of Weymouth, she was the loving mother of Paula Ferrisi-Cronan and her husband James M. of Weymouth and Mark A. Ferrisi and his partner Stephen Hartwell of Randolph; sister of Margaret Santacroce of Weymouth; grandmother of Liam Cronan; niece of Rose Salemme of Weymouth and Lucy Striano of Hingham. Also survived by many cousins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the celebration of Mary Ann’s life Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 10 O’clock at the Glastonbury Abbey, 16 Hull St., Hingham.
